Beat the egg yolks thoroughly.
Heat the heavy cream, KetoCal 4:1 LQ, vanilla extract, and carbohydrate-free sweetener (optional) until hot in a double saucepan or a bowl over a pot of boiling water.
A little at a time, slowly pour the hot cream and KetoCal mixture over the egg yolks, beating all the time.
Add the canola oil to the mixture and mix well.
Return the mixture back to a double boiler or bowl.
Heat without boiling the mixture, stirring all the time until the mixture starts to thicken and coats the back of a spoon.
Remove from the heat.
Pour the mixture into a flameproof dish and then chill in the refrigerator for 2 hours.
Take one 3.5 g packet of Truvia® and sprinkle over the top.
Place the dish under the broiler until the Truvia® has turned golden brown.
